Gentse Feesten (cubic concrete bloc,)
A playful response to the paranoia of the establishment throughout the 1980's, a two cubic concrete bloc, wrapped in gold paper was positioned in front of the official stands during the opening ceremony of the 1985 Gentse feesten. It is necessary for an artist to break the negative atmosphere.
This work of art was conceptualized for the kaaitheatre in 1985. This sculpture reflects the meaninglessness of the lust for power, enveloping its surrounding environment and auto-destructing itself in the end.
