Animam in need

This sixty-page philosophical essay, illustrated with a “cire directe” totem series, is a beautiful illustration of the person Lucas: philosopher and visual artist. It will be printed soon.
“Humanity cannot possibly develop if it does not have a truly clear and concrete insight into itself. That the spiritual part can be supported by the shoulders of psychologists and psychiatrists is a scenario that is doomed to fail. I have always reacted very strongly to lies and dishonesty. That is why my enthusiastic Don Quixote research of the last twenty years has led to an essay. At its basis lies a very serious concern for all that lives.
The totem series is a philosophical walk through ancient global basic texts, from Tibetan Buddhism, Confucianism, Taoism, Hinduism, Judaism, and the Mayan faith, partly inspired by my philosophical education. The animal figures are metaphors.
The coming together of the philosopher and the sculptor was an intense experience. The text proceeds in dialogue form. Both between the totem elements themselves, as well as between totem and text, and together as a totality towards the audience. In addition, six very old religious books are introduced, which in turn enter into dialogue with the subjects grouped per totem.”
